June 25, 2004 Chateau Raceway Classic Dwarf Report by Matthew Grage

It was a perfect night for racing Friday Night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing and the racing was just about perfect as well as the show was run off in less than three hours.  Very few cautions moved the first half of the program right along with twelve heats and a Consy running off in just over an hour.  The first four of the five features were slowed by just three cautions with two of the races running caution free.

A caution free feature was run by the Classic Dwarf Cars.  Dave Lewison of Adams chalked up sixth feature with in eight weeks as he bolted from row four to the front in just four laps.  Running third on lap three he dropped inside in turns three and four on Austin’s Jeff Jech for second than slipped outside on earlier leader Mike Gaines of Glenville to move to the front.  It was clear sailing from there.  Brian Kiehne of Harmony made a nice run from row five to score a second place finish.  Lewison also scored a heat win on the night along with Tate Bestor of Harmony.

Next Friday night will feature the spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks display put on by the track.  The Fireworks show, which is one of the finest you'll see anywhere next weekend, will light up the night as close to 10:00 as possible.  It will also be Mid Season Championship night with the current point leaders all receiving trophies.  Race time is 7:30.

(From Roger Anderson-Electrictaz Racing-Coming soon will be the ability to view the lap times for the cars.  More information will be posted once it begins.  There will be a link from electrictazracing.com’s Results page.)

June 26, 2004 Deer Creek Speedway Classic Dwarf Report by Bill Nelson

A beautiful evening for racing action befell Deer Creek Speedway on the mid season Points night presented by J.B. Distributing Co. Inc. as 129 warriors checked in to do battle at the Southern Minnesota Speedplant.  With local community celebrations going on in the area a very nice crowd was on hand to see some great racing action.

The Classic Dwarf car feature was their best race of the season.  Matt Aarsvold led early on. Eric Wiste slipped up out of four allowing Rick Utley to move by into the second position.  With thirteen to go the first caution flew and on the ensuing restart Utley and Tate Bestor battled for the second spot on the track.  Their battle continued as Brian Kiehne moved past them into second and was joined by Drew Jech in a three car race.  Another caution flew and Kiehne used the restart to his advantage and took over the top spot followed by Utley as the cars climbed up the hill and were running the high line around the track.   This continued for a couple laps and as the drivers were given the two to go Utley put on a challenge for the top spot.  Utley took the spot in two and then Kiehne retook the spot exiting turn four and held on for the win.  Drew Jech took advantage of the race up front and caught Utley off guard and moved into the second spot.
