July 16, 2004 Chateau Raceway Classic Dwarf Report by Matthew Grage

It was a perfect night as week eleven of racing action rolled off Friday Night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing.  Carla’s Finish Line, a NASCAR Collectible dealer in Austin supplied $25 gift certificates for all the heat winners and trophies to all the feature winners.

Classic Dwarf driver Brian Kiehne of Harmony has been on a roll lately.  Kiehne scored a sweep for the third week in a row.  Kiehne came out of row two to win his heat and off the front row to claim the feature win as he lead flag to flag in both races.  Tate Bestor of Harmony also scored a heat win.

July 17, 2004 Deer Creek Speedway Classic Dwarf by Bill Nelson

After a very successful Valley Transportation Combine Demolition Derby on Thursday night the track crews worked hard to get the track in great racing shape again for Saturday night.  The racing action for all 6 regular classes of racing was sponsored by Brauer Roofing of Rochester and Olstad Implement of Chatfield.  Also Peterbilt of Winona was on hand with a display of big rigs in the infield.  A very nice crowd was on hand to take in another night of excellent racing action.

The Classic Dwarf cars had another great battle with the top 4 swapping places a lot during the feature event.  Brian Kiehne and Drew Jech raced for the point early on.  Kiehne led the first three laps with Rick Utley and Corey Whalen in a heated battle for third.  Behind the top four cars Jeff Jech, Tate Bestor, Kevin Bigalk and Matt Aarsvold ran in a four wide formation around the track.  Drew Jech finally worked past Kiehne and took over the lead with ten to go as Whalen ran on their bumper trying to find a hole to run in.  Jeff Jech and Utley were locked together for the fourth spot as Kiehne took back over the point with eight to go.  Two laps later Whalen got a good run in the middle of the track and worked past Drew for the second spot as he set sail for the leader.  A restart with five to go found Utley running up against the wall in a momentum battle with Jeff Jech who was running the bottom of the track. The two of them swapped position as Whalen was working on Kiehne up front.  Kiehne was too strong and took home the win.
