Friday Night for the tenth night of racing action this summer at Chateau
Raceway in
The Classic Dwarf class got off to a rough start as
first lap scramble out of turn two gathered up about five cars bringing out an
early caution. A couple of cars took some hard hits with Jeff Jech of
Austin and Jamey Ulven of Rose Creek both having there feature race ended
quickly. The race when it restarted turned into one of the most entertaining
of the night with several drivers taking turns up front. Roni Van Riper

Finally,
weather was not an issue for the weekly program at the Deer Creek Speedway. The
sun shone brightly and a good size crowd was on hand to watch the action.
One-hundred twenty-seven race cars were on hand tonight. This week’s racing
action was sponsored by Images of Kasson. Kim Crawford of K.C. Lawn Care added
$25 gift certificates to D&C Racing Products for each feature winner and
fifteenth place finisher tonight.
The
Classic Dwarf Cars were up next for their 15-lap feature. This race saw a hard
crash in turn one as Nick Norton’s steering broke and he hit the turn one wall
very hard. Norton was feeling some back pain and was taken by ambulance
to the hospital for observation. No further update on his condition was
available at the time this story was written. Matt Aarsvold led with Drew
Jech and Jeff Jech racing for second. Aarsvold led until lap eleven when he
drifted high in turn four and Drew Jech shot to the low side and the lead.
Aarsvold and Jeff Jech touched and Jech bounced off the wall and Aarsvold dove
low. Jech took second and now it was a family affair up front. On the
final lap Drew led his Dad Jeff but Jeff zoomed to the outside of his son
coming out of turn four for the checkered flag. The sixteen year old Drew edged
his Dad by inches for his first ever feature win.
