An excellent field of just under 90 cars filled the pits for the third Friday Night of racing action at Chateau Raceway in Lansing this weekend and there was no shortage of excitement or story lines for the night.

Dave Lewison of Adams picked up his second feature win of the young season as he moved from row two to the front real quick and ran away with the win.  Lewison lapped a good share of the sixteen car field leaving just six cars on the lead lap when the checkers fell.  Jeff Jech of Austin came home second.  Lewison also scored a heat win for a sweep on the night, while the other heat went to Roni Van Riper of Glenville.

Racing action resumes next Friday night at 7:30 with more of the classes expected to be up and running with the Electronic Scoring.  Track officials have worked out a plan where the drivers can put down a deposit to use the Transponders for the scoring system for this year with out having to put out the money to buy one.  With the timing and information that comes from this new system in place the drivers are sure to see alot of benefits beyond just knowing there placements are correct on restarts and at the conclusion of the nights racing.

141 cars and a good crowd were on hand for the Ronald F. Carlsen Enterprises Incorporated night at Deer Creek Speedway.  After some very entertaining heat races with some awesome racing action the Modified Lites came out for their feature event.

Rick Utley used his starting spot to take the early lead.  Bob Bunne worked to the outside of Utley to take over the spot on lap two with the field running two and three wide.  On lap three Dave Lewison powered by Bunne for the top spot then as he was exiting the fourth corner he slipped down into the infield.  Bunne took the top spot back followed closely by Brian Kiehne and Jeff Jech.  With 9 laps to go the first caution of the event came out bunching the field back up.  On the restart Bunne continues to lead but Lewison was back up in striking position.  Exiting turn two Lewison pulled into the lead.  Brian Kiehne took over the second spot as Bunne pulled his mount into the infield. Lewison held on up front to take the win.
